Natalie Mid Rise Bootcut, Short Inseam

I ordered 2 pairs of the Natalie mid-rise boot-cut jeans in a short length because, well, I am short at 5'2"! Apparently 'short' is subjective to this brand. The fit is excellent everywhere but the inseam is supposed to be 31 1/2" (still too long for 'short'). It's more like a 33"-34" inseam and I am now paying $35 per pair to have them hemmed properly at the tailor. When I inquired with Kut, it was explained that with short-length pants, they increase the length as the size increases. It has not been my experience over the years that if I gain weight I also get taller but that would be nice! It seems that if you want a size and a length you would just select that size and length; if I wanted regular length, I would select that. I see a lot of complaints about the length in this brand but the quality and fit will still bring me back. Maybe one day they will get this right and save us short girls $35 a pop extra at the tailor.
